Providence Quality Management Specialist (RN) in Mission Hills, California
Providence is calling a Quality Management Specialist (RN) (Full-Time/Day Shift) to Providence Medical Institute in Mission Hills, CA.
We are seeking a Quality Management Specialist (RN) who will assure quality patient care standards are met throughout the organization and to identify those instances in which there is a breach on those standards requiring system or policy changes
In this position you will:
Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expected.
Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients.
Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Reports any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline.
Act as a resource for medical and ancillary staff in quality and risk management issues.
Systematically and objectively monitor, evaluate and document the quality and appropriateness of health care. Report all findings to the Quality Management Manager and Quality Assurance Medical Director and appropriate administrative staff.
Monitor clinical performance for improvement and investigate problems identified concerning the organization. Track and trend grievances, appeals and quality issues.
Record minutes of Quality Improvement Committee and perform follow-up activities.
Support staff through in-services and individual instruction.
Assure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards including performing site audits within the organization and contracted Health Delivery Organizations.
Assist Quality Management Manager with all health plan audits and regulatory accreditation audits as needed.
Identify any potential liabilities resulting from patient complaints and/or care rendered. Alert administration and Director of Risk Management. Responsible for any other assigned task in addition to the above.
Write and/or update procedures for Quality Management as needed.
Coordinate activities with the Educators, Patient Care Delivery, Patient/Community Educator and Human Resources, as well as other education efforts supported by the organization.
Receive and document patient grievances and appeals. Review with QM Medical Director and follows-up to ensure feedback from persons involved.
Maintain appropriate licensure/certifications.
Assist in the coordination of the pay for performance and CMS 5 Star clinical measure improvement activities as directed by the Administrative Director.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Education or RN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current California RN license
Three (3) years of Clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting with strong emphasis on medical/surgical nursing or specialty area.
Experience in developing educational programs and procedures.
Knowledge of Title XXII, NCQA, AAAHC requirements and standards, CDC and infection control standards, building codes, fire department safety standards, OSHA requirements (Title VIII).
Must possess excellent teaching skills including presentation, syllabus and handouts.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing or Education.
Two (2) years of Ambulatory care experience.
Two (2) years of Hospital experience.
Quality Assurance/Risk Management experience.
Experience with HMOs and health plans.
