Description:

Providence is calling a Pharmacy Tech, (Per Diem/Variable Shift) to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Tech who will be under the supervision and direction of the pharmacy Supervisor/staff pharmacist, fills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs related duties.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies

• Count, package, and label unit doses for inspection by pharmacist and fills routine orders for non-prescription pharmaceuticals

• Assist pharmacists as directed including filling orders, preparing labels, and computer related work

• Assist with I.V. preparation and delivery

• Logs controlled drugs delivered to pharmacy, puts away and rotates stock as needed

• Prepare and make deliveries to patient units and ancillary departments.

• Work with pharmacist to fill and exchange unit dose containers and to refill stock

• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings

• Attend meetings as required

• Maintain departmental records, reports, and files as require

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement

• Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy or have Pharmacy Intern License

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• High School Diploma or GED
