Providence Health & Services Environmental Services Supervisor in Mission Hills, California
Providence is calling a Environmental Services Supervisor (Full time/Evening shift) to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.
We are seeking a Environmental Services Supervisor who will provide supervisory responsibility for housekeeping activities and assists director in department management.
In this position you will:
Prepare work schedules, assign personnel, evaluate work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions
Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies
Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department
Tour and inspect project areas for quality of work performed and adherence to established policies and procedures
Instruct personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/ methods, and cleaning agents
Maintain inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment and oversees their replacement
Inspect housekeeping and hospital equipment for wear, tear, and replacement and prepare requisitions for maintenance or replacement
Maintain required records, reports, and statistics as directed
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Attend meetings as required, and participate on committees as directed
Assist manager in coordinating and scheduling housekeeping projects such as terminal and concurrent unit cleaning and preparation of patient rooms for occupancy, redecorating projects, washing ceilings, walls, and windows; carpet shampooing, and stripping and waxing floors
Inspect and evaluate the hospital's physical condition. Make recommendations concerning painting, repairs, furnishings and furniture, relocation of equipment, and allocation of space to improve sanitation, appearances, and efficiency
Investigate and evaluate new housekeeping supplies and equipment and make recommendations to administration
Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate and supervise functions and activities of the housekeeping department to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition and comply with regulatory requirements
Provide essential equipment and supplies and ensures that cleaning agents/housekeeping chemicals meet required standards to effect maximum cleanliness and sanitation
Schedule and supervise housekeeping functions and activities so as not to interrupt or interfere with patient care activities
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Sufficient experience in housekeeping functions
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional environmental management
Supervisory or Lead experience
Floor Care knowledge/experience
