Providence Health & Services Director Hospitality Services in Mission Hills, California


Providence is calling a Director Hospitality Services to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, California.

We are seeking a Director Hospitality Services who will be responsible for all planning and directing Food and Nutrition, Dietary Services, Gift Shop and all related activities according to policies, procedures.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce departmental goals, objectives, procedures and policies; review and evaluate existing operational methods and procedures of the dietary and environmental services for effectiveness and efficiency, initiating changes as necessary to ensure compliance with federal, state, county and hospital regulations

  • Determine and establish facilities, equipment and personnel requirements; plan layout designs and determine equipment requirements

  • Plan, direct and evaluate orientation and in-service training and education programs for staff in responsible areas to practice patient/customer safety standards

  • Establish effective relationships with medical staff, nursing and other patient care services; attend staff conferences and transmit information to dietary, gift shop staff and volunteers regarding new developments and trends

  • Establish daily routine for patient visitation and follow-up to ensure appropriate nutrition intervention

  • Evaluate staff for performance and competencies

  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, conferences, and professional affiliations

  • Develop standards of performance, evaluate performance, and initiate or make recommendations for personnel actions in accountable areas


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum 5-years’ management experience in an acute care hospital managing or supervising a food service program.

  • Registered Dietician

  • Experience developing and managing budgets

  • Experience in productivity management

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition Science or Dietetics

  • Master's Degree
